Position Title: Development and Endowment Manager

The Development and Endowment Manager at the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg plays a pivotal role in advancing our mission to strengthen and build Jewish life in Winnipeg, Canada, Israel, and overseas. As part of a highly dedicated team of professional and lay leader fundraisers, you’ll collaborate to develop, implement, and evaluate short and long-term strategies for endowment growth and donor development.

Responsibilities

Endowment and Development Strategies:

  • Define and measure key metrics, regularly reporting on outcomes.
  • Diversify and strengthen financial support from individuals, families, and foundations.
  • Plan and execute acquisition, renewal, and upgrades of individual and family donors using various fundraising channels (direct mail, email, in-person meetings, events).
  • Collaborate with internal teams, volunteers, and external partners.

Leadership and Management:

  • Creatively solve complex problems aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Maintain a personal portfolio of current and prospective donors, diversifying over time.
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward, endowment funds, and campaign contributions.
  • Collaborate with donors and advisors to secure a wide range of planned giving arrangements.
  • Drive marketing and communications efforts (mail, newsletters, social media, emails, presentations) with innovative ideas.
  • Stay informed about development, endowment, and planned giving trends, regulations, and opportunities.
  • Foster a strategic relationship with our endowment partners to secure the community’s financial future.

Administrative and Team Support:

  • Manage administrative tasks and logistics related to the portfolio and overall smooth operations of the organization.
  • Actively participate in interdepartmental staff and committee meetings, working collaboratively to help all departments succeed.
  • Utilize various computer programs/software/tools (Microsoft Office, Adobe, CRM, etc.) to improve systems and maximize impact.
  • Exercise tact and discretion in handling highly confidential information.
