In the wake of the devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Nepal, Federations are collecting funds for emerging relief efforts. Amid a quickly rising death toll and widespread destruction in Kathmandu and the surrounding region, our partners are assessing the unfolding situation on the ground and ensure survivor's immediate needs are addressed. The Government of Canada has made it known that it will match donations made for the purpose of emergency disaster relief in Nepal.

Through our partners, Federations have provided immediate relief and long-term assistance to victims of natural and manmade disasters around the globe, including the Philippines, Haiti, Japan, and South Asia after the Indian Ocean Tsunami, and continues to operate programs designed to rebuild infrastructure and community life in disaster-stricken regions.
