GrowWinnipeg

Proud to live in Winnipeg!

GrowWinnipeg is the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg initiative to develop and implement strategies for the growth and renewal of our Jewish community.

The 3Rs of GrowWinnipeg are Recruitment, Retention, and Renewal. We invite families to move to Winnipeg, encourage our young people to stay, and try to give everyone reason to be happy with and proud of our Jewish community.

The GrowWinnipeg Steering Committee began focusing on immigration. More than 600 families and 1500 people have made Winnipeg their home in the last five years. Click here for more information about Immigration.

The Steering Committee has most recently focussed on ways of keeping our young people.
A full time staff person works on employment networking. The Placement Consultant's services are available to anyone in the community looking for work. Following up in employer contacts made by the client and initiating new contacts on their behalf has shown results. Clients also get advice in interview skills, resume writing, and they can attend workshops on job search.

The purpose of the GrowWinnipeg employment networking program is to raise awareness among employers. We emphasize the incredible experience and skills that employers get by hiring immigrants. Check out the photos from our 3rd. Annual Employment Network event.

Mentoring opportunities
are also available for young people. The goal of the GrowWinnipeg Mentorship Program is to assist youth and young people (18 to 35 years old) within the Jewish community learn about career, and employment opportunities available in the city of Winnipeg.
